5-box Warré hive Toppled by Wind

This hive was mounted on a broad-based wooden stand, resting on a concrete slab, but was in an exposed location. It was a standard Warré design with top-bars, no frames. It was several days before it was discovered and righted (14 March 2016). The combs remained fixed to the walls.

At the time of creating this page (23 November 2018) the colony was still alive, and in the interim had neither dwindled nor been artificially requeened.
